Be among the first to see Bittern in her Margate home
Some tickets are still available for this rare chance to see items from The One:One Collection in their new home at Hornby in Margate.
The exciting summer open weekend offers a first opportunity to get up close to LNER Class A4 4464 ‘Bittern’(sister engine to the world record-breaking ‘Mallard’), and guest exhibit BR 45379 ‘Black Five’, along with beautifully restored coaches and rare maintenance vehicles.
Hornby is throwing open their doors for the weekend to celebrate their return (after a brief time at Sandwich) to their original Margate offices, factory and warehouse – where they were based for most of their history since the 1950s.

As well as your exclusive preview of The One:One Collection as it begins to take shape, you’ll also be able to visit the refurbished Hornby Visitor Centre, see many model railway exhibits and layouts in the former Hornby factory, talk to the design and development team and see historic films and videos.
In the future, we hope to open The One:One Collection as a museum regularly open to the public – but for now, don’t miss this rare opportunity to get up-close and one-one to these historic railway vehicles.
